This small eatery is open every day of the week serving tasty and reasonably priced Indian food, and provided a good setting for a quick lunch following the ardours of a choir performance and shopping!

There are various 'combos' (and sizes) available including a meat curry, a vegetable curry, rice and naan or a soft drink. These are served on a compartmentalised metal tray, which I think may be called a 'thali'. On the weekends there is a $15 special including a glass of wine or beer, and a breakfast special is also available until 12 noon.

At our table we tried out the $11 combo including curries, rice, plain yoghurt and naan. The curries and rice are pre-cooked and standing in bain maries, but the naan was brought steaming hot to the table. Toasted chilli flakes and some other condiments are also available. Both the chicken vindaloo and butter chicken were nicely flavoured with a reasonable sauce to meat ratio. The chunks of chicken (no bones) were soft and flavoursome, but unfortunately the chicken in the vindaloo had several pieces of gristle. The eggplant and potato curry was very tasty, as was the curried mixed vegetables.

The service was polite and helpful and there were various Bollywood videos and music playing in the background.

Naturally this is not a fine dining establishment, but if you are looking for somewhere that is cheap and cheerful with tasty food this is a good place to try.

Verdict: Recommended!
